OPPORTUNITY: Joy from Africa Project Manager

The Craft and Design Institute is currently recruiting the services of a dynamic and experienced project manager, who is ready to lead, innovate and drive success by heading up an exciting design project for the organisation. This position will report to the CDI Connect Manager and will be required to lead and manage the design, manufacture and installation of large scale installations that form part of the Joy from Africa project. Responsibilities include managing lead designers, co-ordination and support to suppliers/makers and client relationships. The Project Manager will also be required to manage M&E & reporting and the project budget and expenditure. Demand creation and the securing of new clients is an additional key performance area. Requirements: The successful candidate will have: A tertiary qualification in Industrial Design or a related field, with at least 5 years proven working experience in this field | Demonstrated project management and financial management experience | Supplier and client management experience | Strong analytical and problem-solving skills | Excellent communication and collaboration skills | Ability to work under pressure and be deadline driven | Experience of development issues and the understanding of the creative and design thinking ecosystem will be advantageous.
