24 CDI member businesses wow at Decorex Cape Town - download our 2025 catalogue below!

The Craft and Design Institute’s (CDI) annual NEXT trade exhibition was once again to a highlight of Decorex Cape Town this June, featuring 24 outstanding local craft and design businesses showcasing their new ranges to local and global buyers and retailers.

The annual NEXT trade exhibition, which was launched in 2018, is proudly presented by the CDI – and NEXT25 was made possible thanks to the support of Decorex Africa built by RX Africa and GL events, and the annual support of the City of Cape Town.

NEXT25 showcased a curated selection of top local designers, each selected for their readiness to enter the international market. All NEXT exhibitors are coached through the CDI’s export development programme, which has supported more than 100 businesses since inception.

Brands on show in 2025 included Barrydale Hand Weavers, Udo & Harmony, Meyer Von Wielligh, Zulu Mein, Modern Gesture Designs, Kioni Goods, and Galago among others.  

Speaking about this year's success at Decorex, Fran Stewart, Market Support Programme Manager at the CDI, said: “The NEXT initiative has seen considerable success, and this year has been no exception, thanks to the support of our funders who have made it possible. The feedback from the businesses has been overwhelmingly positive – some have said it was the best year ever for contacts made with buyers and sales secured. NEXT has proven to be a hugely impactful initiative as part of Decorex, facilitating connections between South African businesses and local and international buyers, contributing to the growth of local design businesses.”
