Sustaining your focus and creativity under lockdown
For small businesses around the country, the COVID-19 crisis and the ongoing lockdown has caused immense stress and threatened livelihoods, particularly in the craft and design sector. For creatives, this time of anxiety, depressed opportunities for sales, and a general mood of fear in the country, has no doubt had a profound impact on creativity and one’s confidence to navigate the challenges faced.
Because it is so vital to feed the creative spirit, we are running a free webinar series that is geared to doing just this – this lockdown does not have to mean a shutdown.
Run over five days, for an hour each morning (9:30 -10:30), experienced facilitator Jane Solomon will help inspire you to move forward.
This interactive webinar series aims to guide you – using creative drawing, writing, and visualisation exercises – to process thoughts, feelings and anxieties around the future of your business; use resources available; access your personal strengths; and get to grips with what’s holding you back.
The process will help you to reflect and re-articulate the purpose of your business; and to appreciate the value of what you do, so that you can emerge from lockdown with intentions in line with your business vision.
Dates: 17 to 21 August 2020
Time: 09:30 to 10:30 am every day
Outline of webinar series programme:
Day one:
This will help you to find clarity and focus by putting thoughts, feelings, worries, anxieties, ideas and hopes you are carrying around down on paper.
Day two:
Exercises to identify personal strengths and talents that will help you to reinvigorate yourself and your business through this tough time and to acknowledge which behavioral patterns/fears are holding you back.
Day three:
A creative exercise to help you to see new dimensions of your practice. Looking at things in a new way can help unlock new ways to move forward, and possibly conceive new products or apply new techniques. Please note that day three will be split into a 30 minute morning session, and a 30 minute afternoon session, to give you enough time to complete the creative exercise throughout the day.
Day four:
A presentation as to how Covid19 is changing how we make, design and sell products and services. This will be followed by a creative exercise to affirm the value and purpose of your products and business, and set intentions to best assist business survival.
Day five:
This time will be used to access, complete and move forward with projects/ideas you were busy with pre- lockdown; or reinvigorate products/projects you have started on, but never finished in the past. We will end off with a group discussion and an outline of support offered by the CDI.
Please note places are limited for this webinar series. Once you have booked, we will send a link to the webinar to the registrants.
