This webinar will explore how you can turn your offcuts and craft-making waste into products and why it is of value to do this. As well as looking at what found materials (natural and manmade) are available in your area.
The webinar will include:
· A brief introduction to the circular economy and sustainable use of materials within your business · inspirational images of products made out of found natural materials and consumer/industrial waste · An interactive exercise to come up with ideas as to how you can use your offcuts to make saleable craft products · What’s available for use in the CDI product support space and how to access it.
About the Facilitator:
Jane Solomon is a Cape Town based designer whose work includes the design of textiles, learning materials, artmaking processes and the facilitation of workshops where creativity is used as a tool for personal transformation and to stimulate income generation.
Jane has facilitated face to face creativity workshops for CDI since 2002 and online inter-active webinars since 2020. The webinar content is informed by her experience as owner, designer of Fabricnation, a small textile design business that produces original, locally inspired fabrics and homeware products.
Jane’s work is inspired by her underlying belief that creativity can heal and transform our lives.
