Descriptor:
Come and have fun for a few hours together 😊. Be immersed in play and experimentation with materials, or work on a project you’ve been wanting to do. See the attached images as examples.
The focus is hands-on learning, discovery, and creative exploration (assistance will be provided with tools, equipment, and processes).
Do:
1. Research and plan the project you’d like to do (Pinterest has so many ideas).
2. Check what materials and tools/equipment are required for your project. 3. Email Caragh Barwise at caragh.barwise@thecdi.org.za regarding the tools/equipment/process required,
so she can confirm if Product Support has what you need by Thursday, 21st
August. 4. Bring your own materials on the day.
Play
, as read by Michael Caine: “Nothing will stop you being creative so effectively as the fear of making a mistake.
Creativity is not a talent, it is not a talent, but way of operating. An ability to play. To play is experiment “what happens if I do this? Would happen if we did that? What if?
The very essence of playfulness is an openness to anything that may happen, the feeling that whatever happens, it’s okay. So you cannot be playful if you’re frightened that moving in some direction will be
wrong, something you shouldn’t have done. You’re either free to play, or you’re not,
So the best way to get the confidence to do that is to know that while you’re being creative, nothing is wrong.
Tea, coffee & water are available, please
bring your own refreshments.
