The Better Living Challenges (BLC - www.betterlivingchallenge.co.za) runs over a five year period and incorporates a series of challenges and interventions that aim to surface design innovations that support the improvement of the living conditions of people living in low-income communities and enable the incremental upgrading of homes.
As part of the BLC, the Cape Craft and Design Institute - the implementing agents of the BLC - are partnering with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and Black Wolf Agency to come up with great ideas on how to use the power of social media to surface innovative building/ upgrading ideas from informal builders and residents living in low-income communities across the province.
This workshop will comprise of an open co-design session to ideate how this campaign could work, after which the most promising ideas will be taken away for further development. This event is being hosted by Open Design Cape Town Festival 2017.

This session is open to anyone who is interested - designers, innovators, community members and marketing enthusiasts.
