This unique opportunity is for Cape Town-based designers and more than just supplying your product into a store, it’s about learning what it takes to become a retailer yourself, it’s about fine-tuning your business and product and familiarising yourself with everything to do with retail - this means spending time in the store, running the systems and closing the sales deals.
Please only apply for this opportunity if you have the drive to become a retailer of your own product and can commit to time in the store.
This 16 month programme will include:
- Business assessment and relevant business training and coaching
- Product Support and refinement
- Shared space within the Watershed to showcase your product with you being part of a small team running the store.
Time Frames:
- All applications to be submitted by 13 May 2022
- Selections will take place during May
- Short listed applicants will be called to an interview
- Successful applicants will be notified in writing, and a MOU will be signed between the parties specifying obligations and responsibilities
IMPORTANT: preference will be given to:
- Businesses that are not yet tapping into the retail market in Cape Town
- Products that are currently not being sold or are not similar to those being sold at the Waterfront (V&A Watershed curators will decide this) but are of a high level
- Emerging businesses / new products
- Business owners with a real drive to retail their own products
Please note that all businesses applying must be registered as CDI Business members and registered on www.peek.org.za
It is free to register as a Business member on the CDI website if you have not done so as yet.
This programme is open to a very limited number of businesses - only 4 - 5 businesses will be selected for the 16 month long programme.
Once you have ‘graduated’ from this programme you should be confident to retail your products yourselves.
