The Make It New Exhibition attracted 29 000 visitors in its two runs at the Cape Town Stadium and V&A Watershed in 2014. The Exhibition featured 170 local creative producers as part of the World Design Capital’s final line-up of public events. Make It New explored the Cape’s rich craft and design heritage in a striking timeline, exploring how contemporary creative designers are revisiting long-established techniques in a totally new way and hence “making it new”.
Design & Making [The Story of Food] 2014
Design & Making [The Story of Food] was a collaborative exhibition between Iziko Museums and The Craft & Design Institute (CDI) that run from May to October 2014. Thought-provoking, the exhibition traced the evolution of craft and design through food - in particular, the vessels used for its preservation, storage, packaging and distribution.
