Project Coordinator
(1-Year Fixed-Term Contract Position)
The CDI requires the services of a skilled and innovative Project Coordinator to support the implementation of a Jobs Fund project, working with informal SMME’s in the Craft & Design sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform overall Administrative requirements for the Jobs Fund project to support the Project Manager
- Design and implement a project plan to maintain administrative requirements throughout the project (i.e. from recruitment to reporting phase)
- Set up and maintain an effective and efficient electronic filing system, as required by the project
- Build and maintain relationships with participant SMME’s as part of the project
- Assist the Project Manager with all logistical preparations for workshops and/or other events required by the project
- Ensure the preparation, collection, collation and uploading of business supporting documents (evidence) for reporting purposes
- Assist with any webinars and uploading of SMME’s to electronic web platform for Project purposes
- Updating and populating project databases, as required
- Be aware of the project’s financial administration processes
You will need:
- A diploma in Business Administration, Secretarial, Office Management or Project management
- At least 2-3 years relevant working experience as a project co-ordinator in a similar field will be advantageous, as will a
keen interest in SMME development and/or the Craft and Design sector
- To be able to set and meet deadlines, work in high-pressure environments and pay attention to detail AND be able to embrace IT solutions and be proficient in MS Office suite specifically including Excel
- To be a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills and be
systems driven or at least show curiosity of administratively applying systems methodologies in the project

Admin Assistant
The CDI requires the services of a skilled and innovative Administrative Assistant with strong project management and IT skills and a keen interest in implementing a systems driven approach to administrative duties. You will be working in a Programme Delivery Support Unit (DSU) that is managing a portfolio of 6 job creation projects.
You will be reporting to the DSU Manager and your responsibilities will include:
- Administrative assistance to the DSU Manager and Project Managers across the portfolio of projects
- The design and implementation of an administrative support project plan for the projects you are supporting
- Set up and maintain an effective and efficient electronic filing system, as required by the project
- Build & maintain relationships with SMME’s and other beneficiaries, part of the project
- Carry out all activities relating to the collection and collation of performance evidence and uploading of this evidence onto the required platform
- Adjust to any systems requirements needed by the projects
- Set up and maintain an effective filing system
- Ensure the collection of all contractual documentation and supporting documentation
- Ensure the collection and collation of M&E related documentation relevant to the project you are supporting
- Carry out the activities required to maintain an effective financial administration system.
You will need:
- A diploma in Business Administration, Project or Office Management with at least 3 – 5 years relevant working experience at a senior administrative level; experience in NGO or similar organisation would be an advantage
- To have a keen interest in applying a systems driven approach to administrative duties and have strong IT and online platform management skills and pay strong attention to detail.
- To be a quick and willing learner; a sensitive individual with strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate appropriately with a diverse range of individuals/groups; a problem solver able to work in a team and on your own.
